GARBE has completed the construction of 20,000 sqm of which 10,000 sqm was customized for Taconova Group AG. The building with its green roof and facade meets the BREEAM EXCELLENT certification criteria.

České Budějovice, 7 December 2023: GARBE, Industrial Real Estate CEE, a specialist in logistics and industrial real estate, and Taconova, a manufacturer of equipment for heating and cooling solutions, indoor climate and sanitary technology, inaugurated 10,000 m2 of industrial space surrounded by greenery and offering unique working conditions in GARBE České Budějovice Park.

The 20,000 m2 building is surrounded by large grassy areas, eight thousand shrubs and seventy-five trees. It is decorated with a green facade of 1,300 m2 and a green roof of 3,000 m2. The project, which involved up to 30 specialist subcontractors, boasts a very low carbon footprint. This is thanks to the implementation of five heat pumps, a rainwater harvesting system and areas prepared for the installation of photovoltaics. Four trucks were involved in removing all the waste thermal insulation from the development, further contributing to the building's overall BREEAM EXCELLENT rating.

"The entire project was completed on schedule and we are pleased to have been able to open the new hall later this year. In terms of sustainability and quality, the construction has met our expectations and it is clear that GARBE is leading the way in the industrial property market in this respect. The greenery and the modern concept, tailored to our needs, create unique working conditions for our team," said Martin Marek, General Manager of Taconova in the Czech Republic, "By opening the new hall, we have managed to expand our production and storage capacity, which is one of the key prerequisites for our future growth."

"Investments and the development of the region are a long-term priority for us. When the German company GARBE bought the 491,693 m2 of land, we talked very carefully together about their vision and plans for the site. Today, at the opening ceremony of the first sustainable hall, I can confirm that everything is moving in the right direction," said Jan Zeman, Mayor of Boršov nad Vltavou, "I am pleased that we can support a project that meets the criteria of a modern working environment while being respectful of the surrounding landscape," he added.

Veronika Zacha, senior business development manager at GABRE in the Czech Republic, said, "GARBE Park České Budějovice is our largest park ever and we are doing everything we can to make it exceptional in other respects as well. We care about our tenants and our relationships with the local community. Green solutions that save the landscape, operational costs and improve the working environment are standard for us. Together with its attractive location, we believe that this park will be attractive to more and more logistics and manufacturing customers."

GARBE can build up to 80,000 sqm of lettable space on the 491,693 sqm site in the first phase and a further 151,798 sqm in the second phase.

The park is located near České Budějovice in Boršov nad Vltavou, which is 90 kilometres from Linz, 150 kilometres from Prague, only 300 kilometres from Munich, 400 kilometres from Budapest and 500 kilometres from Berlin. In addition to excellent road connections to key motorway routes, the České Budějovice airport is located 3 kilometres from the site.
