Tattersall Lorenz, an owner-operated SME property manager based in Berlin, has been appointed by Hines Immobilien to carry out the technical and commercial property management of the Medicus Portfolio.

While the portfolio of mixed-use core properties in Dusseldorf and Berlin was sold in autumn 2020, Hines retains responsibility for the asset management. The total lettable area of 46,000 sqm made it one of last year’s largest transactions in the German office property market.

The properties in Berlin include an office, commercial and residential building at Leipziger Platz 7, close to Potsdamer Platz. It has a lettable area of around 5,700 sqm, while another building in Berlin-Mitte, Jägerstrasse 51, provides approximately 6,200 sqm of lettable office, commercial and residential accommodation. The third Berlin property is an office and commercial building, completed in 2020, in the "Südkreuz Berlin" district. It has a lettable area of around 10,350 sqm.

The Dusseldorf element of the portfolio comprises the office and commercial buildings Karlstadt Carrée, K43-49 and Carlsquartier and includes the Ruby Hotel, which was built in 1962 and fully refurbished in 2020. These assets provide a total lettable area of some 24,000 sqm.

Tattersall Lorenz will manage the portfolio from the company's offices in Berlin and Dusseldorf. Sandra Jäger, head of Tattersall Lorenz’s Düsseldorf team, comments: "The properties are not only of excellent quality but are also in a prime location. Our team will provide them with intensive management and work closely with tenants and owners." Eiko Görs, head of the Berlin office, adds: "The Berlin properties are extremely prominent. We are delighted to have been instructed by Hines and will provide commercial and technical property management of our usual high quality and reliability."
