Tender process for 56 km Upeslejas-Misa railway section underway

Rail Baltica is calling for design submissions for a 56 km section that will connect Upeslejas to Misa with stops in Riga and the Latvian capital’s international airport. The railway project will include the route’s only tunnel as well as 12 road and 16 rail viaducts, 13 segregated pedestrian crossings and five bridges. The deadline for submissions is Jan. 22. The winner will have 24 months to create a detailed technical design, conduct engineering studies and create spatial design solutions. Rail Baltica has pre-selected six companies or groups of companies to take part in the tender process.
