The renewable energy market in Romania will continue to attract important investors in 2024 as well, according to Nadia Badea, Clifford Chance Partner and coordinator of the M&A practice in Romania.

"The renewable energy industry has been extremely dynamic in recent years and, from the signals we receive from large clients we assist internationally, it will continue to attract important investors this year as well. At the same time, we are witnessing the acceleration of consolidation trends in key industries such as Banking, Retail, Medical Services or Technology," says Nadia Badea.

However, as regards the duration of transactions, it tends to be more extensive, on the one hand as a result of a trend of more detailed analysis of investments (due diligence) by potential investors, but also due to the fact that certain industries or areas of analysis in the transactional process are subject to an increasingly complex regulatory framework.
