Union Investment has successfully leased a fully refurbished historic office building in central Paris to French fashion brand Zadig & Voltaire. The iconic property, located at 60B Avenue d’Iéna, near Place Charles de Gaulle and the Arc de Triomphe, will become the brand’s new headquarters in January 2025. The lease agreement covers approximately 2,680 square meters and is set for a duration of nine years.

The building, acquired by Union Investment in 2021 for the DEFO-Immobilienfonds 1 real estate fund, underwent significant refurbishment to transform it into a modern Grade A office space. The renovations included a mix of preservation and modernization efforts, restoring the Haussmann-era stone façade, raising the height of the top two floors, and converting the courtyard into a glasshouse. Additionally, a new timber-framed building was constructed at the rear of the property.

“This project represents the perfect balance of heritage preservation, environmental compliance, and urban inclusivity. The building has been tailored to meet the needs of its future tenant, and we are excited to welcome Zadig & Voltaire,” said Tania Bontemps, president of Union Investment Real Estate France.

With construction led by Redman and architectural work by Naud & Poux, the completion of the refurbishment has brought the vacant building to full occupancy, marking a significant milestone for Union Investment’s Paris portfolio.
