United Group acquires 54.3% of Croatia's Optima Telekom

Dutch-based multi-play and media provider United Group has agreed to acquire a 54.31 percent stake in Croatian fixed internet and pay-TV services provider OT-Optima Telekom.

“United Group, which provides telecommunications services in Croatia under the Telemach brand, has signed a sales and purchase agreement to acquire the 17.41 percent stake held by Hrvatski Telekom and the 36.90 percednt interest owned by Zagrebacka Banka,” said United Group in a statement. The company did not disclose the value of the deal.

After obtaining regulatory approvals, United Group will launch a tender offer for the rest of Optima's shares. OT-Optima Telekom's net loss widened to Kuna 4.57 million in the first quarter of 2021, compared with a net loss of Kuna 4.08 million in the same period of 2020.
