Vastint România Joins Initiative to Revitalize the Dâmbovița River
Vastint România has become the first real estate developer to support ongoing efforts to revitalize the Dâmbovița River and its surroundings. The initiative is being led by the Ivan Patzaichin – Mila 23 Association in partnership with the Nod Makerspace cultural and creative hub and aims to transform the river into a more active and accessible part of Bucharest’s urban landscape.
As part of the Dâmbovița Delivery 2025 event, scheduled for September 20–21 at the Debarcader Operă, Vastint România and the Ivan Patzaichin – Mila 23 Association will host a special canoe race, continuing the tradition of the long-running Descoperă Rowmania campaign. The activity highlights the role of sport and outdoor culture in reconnecting people with the city’s natural spaces while also underlining the importance of sustainable urban development.
Organizers describe the event as a way to show how rivers can be reimagined as spaces that bring communities together rather than serving as barriers. The wider regeneration initiative, known as Dâmbovița Apă Dulce, includes long-term plans to improve access to the water, monitor environmental health, and promote community activities that encourage sustainable use of natural resources.
Vastint România’s involvement reflects a broader strategy of linking its real estate projects with community-oriented initiatives. The company has previously supported activities ranging from social programs to local sporting events, with a focus on sustainability and strengthening social cohesion.
Dâmbovița Delivery and the Dâmbovița Apă Dulce program continue the legacy of projects initiated by the late Olympian Ivan Patzaichin, designed to encourage people to experience Romania’s rivers and waterways as cultural and natural assets. By participating, Vastint România adds its name to an expanding movement that aims to make the Dâmbovița River a visible and vital part of everyday life in the capital.
