Volume of Russia’s wealth fund up USD 1.21 bln

The volume of the Russian National Wealth Fund in December 2020 increased by RUB 89 billion and on January 1 reached RUB 13.546 trillion, according to the Ministry of Finance. At the same time, USD 51.244 bln, EUR 44.166 bln, GBP 8.551 bln, and RUB 11.628 bln were deposited on separate accounts with the Bank of Russia, RUB 579.698 bln were placed on deposits with VEB.RF.

As much as USD 3 bln were invested in debt obligations of foreign states, RUB 254.846 bln and USD 4.113 bln were invested in securities of Russian issuers related to implementation of self-liquidating infrastructure projects, and RUB 278.992 bln were invested in preferred shares of credit institutions, RUB 138.434 bln were deposited with VTB and Gazprombank for funding of self-sustained infrastructure projects, and RUB 3.072 trillion were invested in ordinary shares of Sberbank, RUB 59.517 bln - in ordinary shares of Aeroflot.
