Work is underway on a proposal by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) concerning the conclusion by banks of settlements with clients who have mortgage loans in a foreign currency. These clients will receive questionnaires, which will then be analyzed by individual banks in order to move to the pilot phase, said the president of the Polish Bank Association, Krzysztof Pietraszkiewicz.

"Work on this proposal is ongoing. It is one of the biggest possible financial but also legal projects, a great challenge in terms of burdens and stability, so work must be carried out carefully. They will have their phase of talks, confident communication." with customers through special surveys, "said Pietraszkiewicz during the video conference.

He added, the survey results will be analyzed in individual banks, each of which is in a slightly different situation due to different product characteristics and various related problems.

According to the proposal of the chairman of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, Jacek Jastrzębski, banks should start offering agreements to franchise holders, but without favoring them over clients who have a mortgage in Polish currency. The starting point is to be a PLN loan with an interest rate of WIBOR increased by the margin used for PLN loans at the time the loan was granted in a foreign currency.
