The traditional military parade held annually on May 9th in Moscow will not take place this year because of the coronavirus pandemic. Vladimir Putin made the announcement at a meeting of the country's Security Council. The president said that the risk of contributing to the spread of COVID-19 made it impossible to allow for preparations for the holiday to continue. Putin said that these celebrations, including the military parade, would be postponed until later in 2020.
