The CIJ Awards 2020 took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel in central Bucharest last week in front of the market leaders in real estate. With 138 exceptional nominations, guests came to hear the verdict on who would be walking home holding a winning CIJ Award. These included one for the Grand Prix Awards which was won by AFI Europe & NEPI for Best Investment Transaction of the Year with the AFI Europe purchase of Floreasca Business Park, The Lakeview, Aviatorilor 8 and Timisoara City Business Center from NEPI earlier this year. This will be the first time an investment transaction has won the Grand Prix over project developments. AFI Europe also reviewed an additional 3 awards for AFI City Bucurestii Noi in the competitive category Best Standard Residential Development of the Year, Best Retail Development and Developer of the year for AFI Brasov and of course Best Investment Transaction of the Year with the NEPI portfolio purchase. Leadership of the Year when to Antonanela Comsa, General Manager of Gran Via Romania, With a career spanning over the last 20 years, she is one of the most known and appreciated managers on the Romanian real estate market. A graduate of the Construction University in Bucharest and president of AREI (Association of Real Estate Investors from Romania). In 2020, besides managing the day to day activities of Gran Via on the Romanian market, Antoanela was one of the most present voices on the market, promoting the increase of the level for 5% VAT, through AREI. Best Office Development and Developer went to Record Park by Speedwell a mixed-use and urban regeneration project in Cluj-Napoca covering a 37.000 sqm surface. CTP picked up Best Warehouse Development & Developer of the Year with the hugely successful ctPark Bucharest West for BUW 17 build. Best Buildup in Development went to U Center by Forte Partners, located in the heart of Bucharest overlooking Tineretului Park, U•Center building delivery date is targeted to be Q3 2021. One United Properties will also be pleased with their result of picking up 2 awards, which included Leading Green Development & Developer of the Year for One Floreasca City. Once Floreasca has received Platinum LEED v4 Core & Shell pre-certification and is undergoing Well Health and Safety certification. The second prize was for One Mircea Eliade in the Best Luxury Development category, the development has 247 exclusive Design Apartments in 3 towers within One Floreasca City. Now in its 13th year, the ceremony was stunted from its original gala plans to a smaller event due to the COVID pandemic and was aired on the evening of the 3rd DECEMBER 2020 to the CIJ EUROPE subscriber audience. The CIJ Awards 2020 jury voting was conducted online with carefully selected leading real estate professionals representing 39% of votes and a selected top industry real estate management committee and the CIJ editorial team in the form of 3 prestigious jury committee groups holding 61% of the vote.
