The construction of the new Etnographic Museum in Budapest is going according to schedule, with construction works to end by the end of the year. The building that is located next to Varosliget (City park) has reached its highest point of 25 meters. Despite the force majeure, in the form of the Coronavirus epidemic, that had stalled the construction, it is said that the works are going according to schedule and the museum will be ready to open in Spring 2022. The building schedule will see interiors being fitted out with over 250,000 items next year, this will include the installation of the new Ethnographic Permanent Exhibition. So far the investment has cost over EUR 100m, which is EUR 40m more than the initial project planned.
