The average wage in the Czech Republic will fall in 2020 and its decline will likely continue next year, when inflation is taken into account. The average wage this year should reach CZK 34,682 per year and rise to CZK 35,006 per month in 2021. However, the Office of Statistics writes that this would represent a decline in real erms of 1.6 percent for 2020 and another 0.9 percent for next year. It will be a shock for Czechs who have gotten used to rising wages in recent years. Last year, the average wage rose 3.5 percent in real terms.
