Hungaryʼs GDP fell 13.6 percent y-o-y in the second quarter, according to raw data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH). The results, based on seasonally and calendar-adjusted and balanced data, were significantly impacted by the restrictions put in place by the government to combat the coronavirus pandemic. The Finance Ministry, however, pointed out that Hungary’s GDP decrease was less than the 14.4-percent average drop reported across the European Union in Q2.
