German discount company Lidl has founded a company in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which finally means that Lidl will soon enter the BiH market. The formal founder is W E-International Zweite GmbH. The director of the company is Roland Schreiber, and the executive director is Allen Halimić. Both worked in the management of Lidl Croatia.

Already last year, the German media, but also in BiH, announced that Lidl will open the first facilities in BiH by 2022, and in the end they intend to have 30 stores in BiH. First, they want to open facilities in cities with at least 30,000 inhabitants, for example in Sarajevo and Mostar.

The company decided to expand faster in the region due to its success in the Serbian market, and before Croatia. Lidl currently has 11,200 branches in 32 countries.
