Number of issued building permits in Serbia declining

The Republic Bureau of Statistics of Serbia stated that 2,005 construction permits were issued in July 2020, which is 8.9% less than in the same period last year. Of the total number of permits issued in July, 81.3% of permits relate to residential buildings and 18.7% to other buildings.

According to permits issued in July 2020, the construction of 2,375 apartments was reported, with an average area of ​​71.3 square meters. Of the total number of apartments in new residential buildings, 10.9% of apartments will be built in single-apartment buildings, with an average area of ​​146.5 square meters, and 87.6% of apartments will be built in buildings with three or more apartments, and their the average area will be significantly smaller and will amount to 61.1 square meters. The estimated value of new construction works in July 2020 is 82.2% of the total estimated value of works.
