Ryan air slashes prices on flights to London

In a desperate attempt to keep flights in the schedule, airlines are dropping their prices to almost absurd levels. Ryanair's price for a flight from Prague to London was being sold for just CZK 419 over the weekend. Most of its flights to the English capital for the remainder of the week were going for less than CZK 1,000. But the company has still been forced to cancel nearly 20 percent of its flights for October, in view of the rapid advance of the second wave of the virus. This means that the company will be flying at just 40 percent of its capacity from 2019. The airline is blaming government mismanagement of the situation for its difficulties. "As customer confidence is damaged by Government mismanagement of Covid travel policies, many Ryanair customers are unable to travel for business or urgent family reasons without being subjected to defective 14 day quarantines," wrote the company. "While it is too early yet to make final decisions on our winter schedule (from Nov to Mar), if current trends and EU Governments’ mismanagement of the return of air travel and normal economic activity continue, then similar capacity cuts may be required across the winter period."
