Schneider Electric has opened its first Center for Innovation in Eastern Europe, which is a demonstration space that allows visitors to try out the company's IoT technology live. It's located in the company's factory in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv, which covers an area of 12,000 square meters and is engaged in the production and installation of miniature switches. The move is illustrative of the company's gathering strength in the region.

At the end of 2019, Schneider's factory in Bulgaria received the highest industrial certificate within the company. This required it to meet numerous criteria such as automating at least 65 percent of all processes, implementing device and energy management systems, and improving maintenance efficiency using augmented reality technology.
