The number of new cases of coronavirus in the Czech Republic is rising. On Wednesday, the laboratories detected 9,567 infected, which is almost 1,100 more than a week ago. Compared to Tuesday, the increase is about 400 higher. On Wednesday, 5,811 patients with covid-19 required hospital care, which was about 250 fewer patients in the week-on-week comparison , according to updated data on the Ministry of Health 's website . Compared to the previous day, the decrease was about 180. 985 patients are in serious condition.

In recent days, the infection has spread most in the Trutnov, Cheb and Sokolovská regions, where over the past seven days, more than 1,000 cases of covid-19 have been recorded per 100,000 inhabitants. In the Trutnov region there were 1142 cases, in the Cheb region 1127 and in the Sokolov district 1081 infected per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days.
