AFI Europe builds a shopping center in Bucurestii Noi neighbourhood

AFI Europe has confirmed it will build a shopping center within the AFI City residential complex in Bucurestii Noi neighbourhood after announcing that it has completely abandoned the plan to build a mall on the site.

The company is already working on the structural part of the future shopping center, which will have direct exit to the Laminorului metro station. The new project has a leasable area of about 4,500 sqm and will be completed in late 2021 - early 2022, following an investment of about EUR 8.6 million.

"The shopping center, as it is now thought, is designed as a small one in order to serve current and future residents of AFI City, as well as other customers in the area. Now, after the completion and delivery of the first phase of the residential project, we wanted to keep our commitment to develop the AFI City community, creating a shopping and service center nearby," said Doron Klein, CEO of AFI Europe Romania.
