Bacău will be the first city in the country to have an athletic park, meaning an entire park dedicated to mass sports. The Bacău County Council, the institution that runs the project, signed the contract for the execution of the works at the Athletic Park. The investment amounts to EUR 14.5 million, and the money comes from the local budget.

The execution of the park was won by an association of companies formed by Conextrust - Routte Construct - Evalcons Tech, whose subcontractors are the companies Regenergy, Build Instal Electric, Keingart Aps, Pro Hidro Instal, Consulting Grup Expert, Dasitrade and Ischia. The project has eight months as the deadline for the execution of the works.

The park will have an area of 20,000 sqm and will have a 400-meter running track, a 309-meter hill running track, a centrifugal running bowl, a pump track, a multi-purpose building that will house changing rooms, storage and public food areas, a trail with obstacles, a recreational lake, a weight throwing area and a parking lot.
