The government restricted movement in the districts of Cheb, Sokolov and Trutnov due to the spread of covid-19. People who live there will not be able to leave the district, with a few exceptions, others will not be able to leave, said Minister of Health Jan Blatný (for YES) today after an extraordinary meeting of the government. The measure will apply from midnight on Friday until the end of the emergency. If the House does not extend it, it will end on Sunday, February 14. In that case, the government would transfer most of the measures to the Public Health Protection Act, but according to Blatný, this would be possible only to a limited extent.

The state will send veils to the three most affected regions, and respirators to schools. Today, the government decided that the state would send half a million veils to the Hradec Králové region, half a million to the Karlovy Vary region. People there will be obliged to wear at least surgical drapes in public places, according to Blatný they should rather use respirators.

The government recommended to employers in these districts regime measures at workplaces, the use of work from home and antigen testing, Blatný said. According to him, compliance with the measures should be supervised by the police on the access roads. If the forces were not enough, the government would ask for help from the army, Blatný said.

Restrictions on movement will not apply to schoolchildren. An exception should be made for people who commute to work or have to leave home to ensure safety. According to Blatný, people who have real estate there but do not live there permanently will not be able to come to the districts. People will be able to go out there to meet the needs of the animals, for a trip to the church or to the office. However, they will always have to prove the declared purpose of the trip.

The measure will not apply to transit, but truck drivers in the districts will not be allowed to stop.

Blatný explained the tightening of restrictions by saying that in the given districts the number of infected people is three to four times higher than in other areas. Hospitals there have full capacity.
