Eurostat: Production in construction down by 3.3% in EU

In December 2020 compared with November 2020, seasonally adjusted production in the construction sector decreased by 3.7 percent in the euro area and by 3.3 percent in the European Union, according to first estimates from Eurostat. In November 2020, production in construction increased by 2.3 percent in the euro area and by 1.8 percent in the European Union. In December 2020 compared with December 2019, production in construction decreased by 2.3 percent in the euro areaand by 2.1 percent in the European Union. The annual average production in construction for the year 2020, compared with 2019, fell by 5.7 percent in the euro area and by 5.0 percent in the European Union, informed Eurostat.
