Poland plans to extend a pilot project that monitors high-risk Covid-19 patients to all Poles who have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to Adam Niedzielski, the Poland’s Health Minister. The government wants all patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 to be included in the Home Medical Care scheme, which checks the patients’ health using remote monitoring. Consultants and doctors will monitor the state of patients’ health and call for an ambulance if needs be. In November, the health service launched a pilot project to remotely monitor coronavirus patients from high-risk groups in the Malopolskie province. The ill persons used pulse oximeters to monitor oxygen saturation levels in arterial blood.
