This year marks the 20th anniversary of Obermeyer Helika’s operations in Slovakia, a milestone for the design and construction consultancy originally established in 2004 as a subsidiary of its Czech division. The Slovak office began its journey with the notable Bory Mall project and has since grown into one of the country’s most stable design and consulting firms.

Obermeyer Helika is currently engaged in several significant projects, including the ambitious Vydrica urban district in Bratislava and the extensive reconstruction and expansion of the University Hospital in Banská Bystrica. “The emerging Vydrica district, located directly in front of Bratislava Castle, is an exceptional project that has captured considerable public interest. It stands out as one of the most luxurious residential complexes in our capital, uniquely blending history with modern architecture,” stated Adriana Kokoška, Sales Director of Obermeyer Helika Bratislava. The Vydrica development will feature 370 apartments, four office buildings, and nearly 100 retail units.

The Bratislava office collaborates closely with Obermeyer Helika’s Brno division, which is also celebrating its third anniversary this year. Despite its relatively short existence, the Brno division has expanded to a team of twelve designers and architects, successfully completing several major healthcare projects, including the New Family Care Pavilion at Pelhřimov Hospital and the reconstruction of the Lanškroun Polyclinic. Currently, the Bratislava office and Brno division are working together on a project to construct logistics and light manufacturing halls on the site of the former ZETOR factory in Brno.

In addition to these flagship projects, the Slovak office is involved in various other significant endeavors, such as the extension of the Aupark shopping center, the reconstruction of the iconic Dunaj department store, and the Metropolis project, which is being developed in the new center of Bratislava. The office’s commitment to excellence is further evidenced by its participation in the reconstruction and extension of the University Hospital in Banská Bystrica.

Looking back, Obermeyer Helika’s portfolio includes a range of successfully completed projects beyond the Bory Mall, such as the National Institute of Heart and Vascular Diseases in Kramároch, the Mill office building, and the heliport at Ružinov University Hospital. As it embarks on its third decade, Obermeyer Helika continues to play a pivotal role in shaping Slovakia’s urban landscape and infrastructure development.
