The city of Ostrava has agreed to sell a development zone in the district of Mosnov to Panattoni for more than CZK 250 million. The 39 hectare plot will be used for the development of an industrial park for distribution, light production, IT operations, R&D and e-commerce. Ostrava's mayor Tomas Macura said the new investment would become an important part of the city's business infrastructure. "Production facilities, which are a significant source of growth, technological progress and productivity will be complemented by office space and warehousing space," said Macura. He added that the pandemic situation only confirmed what an important role logistics flows played in the supplying of cities. "What's crucial for us is the commitment to creating work opportunities with high added value," said Macura. "From this more than CZK 4 billion investment by the developer we expect a multiplication effect on suppliers from Ostrava and the surroundings and with it, economic development of the city."
