The Dealz chain, part of the Pepco Group, has opened its first distribution center in Poland in Lyszkowice (Łowicki County), Dealz reported.

The 47,000-square-meter warehouse, which uses modern technological solutions, will significantly speed up the handling of store deliveries. It will also help realize the ambitious growth plans of the chain, which wants to double the number of its stores by the end of 2023, the company announced.

The warehouse in Lyszkowice (near the intersection of the A1 and A2 highways) has been stocked and already supports Dealz stores located throughout Poland.

"The dynamic growth of our network on the Polish market requires us to be highly flexible and to have an efficient logistics network. The new distribution center fits our needs perfectly also because of its geographic-strategic location from a transportation and cost point of view. It will enable us to ensure uninterrupted availability of the products that our customers are so eager to buy," commented Dealz Poland CEO Marcin Langowski.

The distribution center is prepared for three-shift operation with employment potential for 600 people. It employs a number of modern technological solutions, including, among others, forklifts with lithium-ion batteries with fast electric charging, which greatly increases the productivity of warehouse processes, and a photovoltaic installation that powers the facility's outdoor lighting, the company indicated.

"The opening of the new warehouse is one element of a broader process of change at Dealz. In the coming months, the chain plans to introduce a modernization program in Poland that includes optimizing its assortment and store space, as well as implementing new technological solutions. All of this is aimed at providing even higher quality customer service and increasing the comfort of Dealz employees. The chain is also working on optimizing its supply chain, which will allow it to serve existing and new stores even more efficiently, the company further announcement.

The first Dealz store in Poland was opened in February 2018 in Swarzedz, and there are currently 170 outlets offering a wide assortment of more than 3,000 products from well-known brands. The chain currently employs close to 2,000 people at its stores and headquarters in Poland.

Pepco Group currently has about 4,000 stores located in 19 countries, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain and the Central and Eastern European region, and employs about 43,000 people.
