The draft windbreaker law is ready, the distance for the construction of windmills will be 500 meters, the Minister of Climate and Environment Paulina Hennig-Kloska announced.

"The project is ready, I think at the beginning of April, the last talks and the cuts are going on, will go to inter-ministerial arrangements. The list of government works has been sent, we are waiting for the entry and commencement of works, a draft law on prosumers and aid for energy-intensive enterprises that would like to transform," said Hennig-Kloska.

“We will maintain 500 m, it was the government’s commitment to the election promises. But we want to change these parameters to make space, but safe for people, space for the development of wind on the track, we very much lack this factor in the energy balance of the country. Secondly, you can see that this is a very effective source of power," the minister added.

In January, Hennig-Kloska announced that the new draft of the so-called windbreaker law is to be ready for approximately two months.

Initially, the provisions amending the so-called windmill act, liberalizing the rules for the location and construction of wind power plants in Poland, were included in the draft law amending the Act in order to support consumers of electricity, gas and heat fuels and some other acts, extending the freezing of energy prices until 30 June 2024. Later, a self-implied amendment to the parliamentary draft of the acts in order to support consumers of electricity and gas fuels was collapted, which assumed the removal of issues related to the construction of windmills from the proposed regulation.
