Bucharest, 03.09.2024 – Puratos, a global leader in bakery, pastry, and chocolate ingredients, is set to double its production capacity in Romania with a new factory to be constructed in Tunari, north of Bucharest. The Belgian-owned company, managed by the Van Belle and Demanet families, plans to build the new facility adjacent to its existing plant.

The planned expansion will see the construction of a 5,349-square-meter factory on a plot of approximately 11,700 square meters. Work on the new facility is slated to begin this fall.

Gabriela Bereș, Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe at Puratos, announced the investment, stating, “We are investing EUR 10 million in this new factory and production line. Our goal is to double our production capacity and enhance our portfolio with value-added products. We will concentrate on the confectionery and pastry sector, which is rapidly growing in Romania. Our new facility will provide high-quality raw materials that meet the needs of both local and regional producers.”
