The WING development, GOBUDA Mall, has won another international award
WING, a developer and investor in Hungary and one of the major groups on the Central European property market, has won the Best of the Best Retail Development award with GOBUDA Mall. The Hungarian development received the first prize in an international field at this year’s prestigious Best of the Best Hall of Fame (HOF) awards ceremony.
WING was given recognition at the 8th HOF awards ceremony on 26 April, at the Hotel Fitzgerald in Prague. The illustrious event was attended by the leading property experts in Central and Eastern Europe, and the most promising projects and companies of the year were given awards. The exclusive Best of the Best Hall of Fame Awards is the climax of the CIJ Awards series, which pits winning projects and companies from around Central and Eastern Europe against each other to determine who the Best of the Best really are. HOF’s history goes back to 2001, and now it has entrants from the Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, SEE and Slovakia.
The award is an international recognition for WING and its development, the GOBUDA Mall project, which has been recognised by the international industry for the 4th time. WING’s winning project was the complete reconstruction of the EuroCenter mall in Óbuda. It took ten months to modernise the building, which now has a total leasable area of 25,000 square meters with space for around 100 stores, and various services are also available. The building, which is in North Buda, has been completely renovated at a record pace, both inside and out. It is tailored to the needs of local residents and offers new functions.
Several new stores have opened in GOBUDA Mall since the building was completed. While the mall already has an impressive tenant mix with brands like Douglas, Wellensteyn, Mohito, dm, Triumph and Yves Rocher, an agreement has been concluded with another anchor tenant, INTERSPORT, which will open its store in the autumn of 2023. Food options are also expanding, with a Wok ’n Go restaurant opening in the popular food court on level 1 in the summer. The building offers several entertainment options too: there is the GOBUDA cinema, the Vidám Színpad theatre, and the GOBUDA Fitness Club, which has cutting-edge equipment and club-like atmosphere.
